Three Practices That Lead to More Gospel Conversations

Occasionally, a believer will ask how I get in so many gospel conversations. I have to say that it is not rocket science. Here are three practices that will lead you to have more gospel conversations.

  1. Pray for Boldness. Paul had to pray for boldness. He asked the church at Ephesus to pray for him that he might proclaim the gospel with boldness. (See Ephesians 6:19) If the Apostle to the gentiles had to pray for boldness, what makes us think that we don’t need to pray that too? When you are emboldened by the Holy Spirit, you will identify and seize upon opportunities to proclaim Christ.
  2. Prepare. Many Christians fail to prepare to share the gospel each and every day. How do Christians prepare? Read the Word daily and ask God for opportunities. You need to hide the Word in your heart so that you always ready to share.
  3. Learn to look for signs of spiritual thirst. That means paying close attention to things that people say and do. Are they thinking about God? Are they asking spiritual questions? Like a doctor seeking to diagnose a patient’s condition, we should ask questions of them that probe their spiritual beliefs. This will help you identify more opportunities to share the gospel with more people.

What are your thoughts? I’m interested in hearing how you seek to engage the lost with the message of Jesus. What tips have helped you?
